Maanzin is the monthly celebration of the full moon at Ruigoord, where visitors realize their place in earthly existence and celebrate life in the peak moment of the moon. Every edition has its own theme, this time it was Blood moon in Gemini. During the event various DJ’s took the stage, accompanied by performances specially written for the theme.

I was asked by Willem Jan de Graaff from Birds of Harmony to co-design the main stage on site. The center piece was the big red heart, decorated with two white masks, the gemini. We worked closely with the performers to attune our designs to their costumes and vice versa. Visitors were asked to dress up in red too, and as they were blending with the decor, this resulted in a coherent and captivating event experience.
